I attended Clayton
State University in Morrow, Ga. My major was Science
with a minor in English. My goal was to become a
middle school teacher. My love for animals brought
me to be a technician and my career goals changed.
I have been a technician for a little over 8 years
now. I love what I do. My experience in the veterinary
field ranges from reception to imaging (x-ray, fluoroscopy,
ultrasound) to specialized orthopedic surgery assistant.
One day I hope to be involved with veterinary practice
at a higher level. I like to “think on my toes” which
is why I also enjoy working in the emergency atmosphere
on my off days.
I have also been involved in the Previcox drug study
for post surgical analgesia.
Areas of Interest:
Lab, Surgery, and Imaging. I also like to ride motorcycles
(I ride my own) and dirt bikes. My other interests
include spending time with my husband, family and
friends.

What do
you enjoy most about your job at Dogwood? I
enjoy client communication. I think the better
clients are educated about the well being of their
pets, the better animals will be cared for. I enjoy
working in the imaging aspect of veterinary medicine.
I have experience with x-ray, fluoroscopy, endoscopy,
ultrasound and MRI! I view veterinary imaging as
a window into the animal because so many questions
about illness can be diagnosed through imaging.
What Pets
Do you Have?
1 dog (Jessie),
1 cat (6 Pack Pony),
1 horse (Mac),
1 bull (Buddy Love),
1 pig (Bubba), other cows, chickens and goats without
names.
